my consumption of animated and illustrated matter has been reaching critical levels lately. my latest obsession - Lynda Barry. a great cartoonist, a friend of Matt Groening, and a farm dweller in a rural Wisconsin. she also runs writing workshops called Writing the Unthinkable. and it's all written down in her book What It Is.

a very pretty train ride

from Hanoi to Danang. the ride is a bit uhm long. but it's not so bad at all if you load up some movies to your laptop and take one of those "wooden" trains called Levitran.

it was on the news back in 2003. but i've never heard about it. until i came to Asia.
